This sauce makes a great dip for veggies, crackers, or chips. It also works great for spicing up sandwiches or wraps. If you’re looking for a healthier “cheese” dip alternative and like a little spice, this recipe is for you.

Vegan Cashew Queso Sauce

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup raw cashews (soak in water for at least 4 hours prior)
1 cup healthy salsa of choice (I use a salsa verde)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
¼ cup unsweetened rice, hemp, or almond milk
1 red bell pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
½ – 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper depending on how spicy you want it
1 teaspoon turmeric
¼ clove of garlic

DIRECTIONS:

Mix all ingredients in a high speed blender or food processor until completely smooth
Heat on stove until warm
Pour into serving bowl and garnish with a little extra spices or cilantro
Serve and enjoy
